    Description

I am selling a very rare Georgian Era seed pearl heart Locket that I purchased from Erica Weiner NYC about 2 years ago.
This lovely and rare locket is circa 1780-1800 and is composed of a low karat gold (I believe 9-10kt) and seed pearls.  These lockets are so rare and incredibly hard to find now, especially with the bow detail as this one has.  A fun fact is that this shape represented a heart in Georgian times. It wasn't until later that the clefted heart became more mainstream. The bow represented eternity and loyalty.  This would have been a sentimental, possibly lover's gift.
The locket comes with the original Erica Weiner high quality gift box (the black box shown in the photo) and a new 14kt gold 18" chain (also from Erica Weiner). The locket measures 21mm from the top of the loop to the bottom and 15mm wide.
Things to note: this precious piece is over 200 years old!  As such there are minor scratches and nicks to the glass.  This is really unavoidable in true antiques of this age.  Please review all of the photos as they are part of the item description.  The locket opens and closes well. These typically had woven hair or some other sentimental thing in them. Ready for you to add your own!
I only wore this piece a handful of times and comes in the original condition as sold to me from Erica Weiner.  I included a picture of the Erica Weiner stock photo (note the other two plain lockets are not included nor for sale). The price of these Georgian pieces is going up and I have listed this for a very good value.  The last similar Georgian era locket I saw listed on the Erica Weiner website was plain without a bow and was over ,400.
All sales are final.  Please ask all questions prior to purchasing or making an offer.  Package will ship USPS Priority mail with signature confirmation (fully insured).
