    This is a wonderful Georgian gold posy ring, dating to the mid 18th century. The inside of the band is inscribed "
    Our contract was heavens act
    " a sentiment recorded in Evans (88) and one well suited as a wedding band. It bears a makers mark of 'WT' in Gothic lettering. Makers marks utilizing gothic capitals tend to date to the middle of the 18th century. Today this ring would make a choice and unique wedding band!
